How the daily challenge works
- Five sound effects: three Japanese, one Korean and one Chinese, in a mixed order.
- Four choices each, no timer. Take your time, but you only get one try per day.
- Your result is a row of squares: green for right, red for wrong. It shows how you did without giving away the answers.
When it resets
A new set of five starts at midnight UTC, the same moment everywhere. The page shows a countdown to the next one. The challenge number goes up by one each day, so you and your friends can compare the same puzzle.
Streaks and stats
Your streak counts the days in a row you played. Miss a day and it starts again from one. Your best streak and the number of days you played are kept in this browser only. Nothing is sent to us and there is no account.
Practise between challenges
One set a day not enough? The manga SFX quiz has ten rounds with a timer and a streak bonus, and you can play it as often as you like. Every sound in both games is in our manga sound effects dictionary.

How does the daily SFX challenge work?
You get five sound effects and pick the meaning of each from four choices. When you finish, you can copy or share a row of green and red squares.
When does the challenge reset?
At midnight UTC every day. The page shows how long is left until the next one.
Is it the same for everyone?
Yes. Everyone gets the same five sound effects on the same day, in the same order, so you can compare results with friends.
Is my streak saved?
Your result, streak and stats are kept in this browser only. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, they start again.
Can I play an earlier day?
